How to find a ski or snowboard buddy safely
Riding with someone new can make a good day great. A little planning keeps it safe and fun.
Before you meet
- Chat first and compare ability, pace and terrain (groomers, bumps, trees, park).
- Agree on a meeting spot in public, such as the base lodge or a named lift line.
- Tell a friend who you're meeting, where, and when you'll be back.
- Keep your home address and personal details private.
On the mountain
- Start with an easy warm-up run to check pace.
- Stay in-bounds and ride to the slower partner's level.
- Agree on a regroup plan and keep phones charged.
- Leave anytime you feel uncomfortable. That's always okay.
